Hints of surf
CONDITIONS OF THE SEA
Because it is a sport that not only depends on the will of the surfer, there are several external factors that need to combine so you can practice it. Not always the sea and / or present conditions favorable wind the practice of surf on the beach closest to your home or your favorite peak. According to the geographical positioning of the beaches, the influences of winds, tides, currents and swell direction, vary greatly, so you should know them well to the right place to go and do a good surf.
WINDS AND CURRENTS
To have better knowledge of winds and currents should know the cardinal directions (North, South, East and West). The sun rises in the east and sets in the west, from there we will know what name we give to the wind and what their influences at sea
For Example:
- The offshore wind is so named because it blows from land to sea.
- A warm wind generally smoothes the sea and the waves makes dug.
- Many offshore wind days may end with the ripple.
- The Onshore wind is the inverse of offshore, blowing from sea to land.
- A cold wind can bring big waves or cold front.
MOON
Variations of the moon directly influencing the tides, moons strong (full and new moon) tides mean with many variations (very high and very low). Moons weak (waning and growing) mean little tidal variations. Changes moons may also influence the formation and size of waves.
FUNDS
The types of funds have influence on the quality of the formation of waves.
- Fund of Sand: Are sandbars that change according to the currents and winds, are surrounded by ditches that make good formation of waves or not, when they are low on power.
Note: The holes are ditches or streams where water pushed by waves returns to the ocean beach. They are always between two sandbars, which is very good for surfers because we got to the bottom more easily and dangerous for swimmers because many people drown in them, fighting his strength.
Example sandy bottoms: Barra da Tijuca (RJ), Hossegor (France), Puerto Escondido (Mexico).
- Stone Fund: Formed near slopes that originate at sea, funds are constants that only depend on a good swell coming in the right direction.
Note: In some places, away from the slopes, there are accumulations of rocks that make good waves forming in the middle of the beaches.Examples of funds stone Rincon Point (California), Silviera (SC-Brazil).
- Coral Reefs: This type of fund is classified in two ways: (A) that is formed from the beach and (B) those that form away from the beaches. In that form away from beaches like Pipeline and Serrambi (Ontario), the corrugations are reef walls causing the undulations break away from the beach and end channels (trenches). Depend on a number of factors to become really good. The other type of fund is formed from coral beach or funds very shallow that almost form small islets, and the proximity of each other as archipelago, any kind of waves and wind provides good fun making waves that often can only using boats to reach the peak. (Ex.: Cloudbreaks of Tavarua in Fiji). In the latter type, one should be very careful with the intertidal therefore very low when it becomes too dangerous (corals are very sharp and in many instances are exposed may cause injury).
PHYSICAL PREPARATION
Every surfer competitor must make a physical preparation guided by a physical education teacher (with specific job for surfing). The daily training should be done with great seriousness and willingness in certain times, for only in this way the surfer must achieve physical fitness and better sports performance. For practitioners of "free surf" unwilling or unable to have a professional guidance, we recommend that you do physical exercises such as running, swimming and cycling gradually until they reach about an hour of daily work for each modality and exercise. Make heating, stretching, flexibility and relaxation before after surfing is super important, so we obtain a better performance at sea.
FEED
The power should be as healthy as possible, appropriate to the local climate. If competitive, we recommend tracking a nutritionist, mainly because of constant travel, changes in diet and climate. Balancing intake of protein, vitamins, carbohydrates and minerals. Avoid fats, salt and sugar (white) and make meals at certain times, are also great habits that maintain good health because surfing stimulates appetite because of consuming too many calories. Therefore, we must know how restoring them as healthy as possible.
REST
Due to the great physical, organic and psychological practice arising from a day of surfing (in the case of a competition this wear is much higher), you must meet a rigorous schedule of rest of at least 8 hours a day to restore the energy ( preferably sleep and wake up early).
PREPARATION TECHNICIAN
The technical preparation should be done by a professional, preferably with academic training. This training must be done in various types of waves, sea conditions and locations. Recognize your most difficult maneuvers and seek to correct them through filming (if possible) and conversations with your coach. The observation of positioning itself, compared to the great surfers in photos or movies on the board is super important to correct our mistakes, because every time the wave has the need for a specific position, knowing how to use your knees as shock absorbers and boosters, use your arms and body as pendulums keeping them with the correct angulation according to the time of each wave for better balance and speed. Repetition training is very important to be able to correct errors and perform maneuvers in the best way possible, ie speed, radical, pressure, balance and control of the board combined with a beautiful style and economy of movement. The use of the body as a whole, together with the board (used smoothly) and the sea makes the surf one of the finest shows on earth.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PREPARATION
In no way be allowed to disturb the surf studies (it is possible and very beneficial for the surfer, organizing to reconcile the two). A surfer should not be alienated nor ass. He will need to take care of your future, and even those competitors who follow the future professionalism should beware and know that a champion is not done only with a good physical and technical preparation, but with much intelligence (look on life with greater amplitude). Be realistic and consider that the life of an athlete's career is short and not always financially rewarding. So study and take full advantage of the study!

RULES AND TACTICS
Surfer competitor must have knowledge of all the rules of competition, which is achieved through a study of the Book of Rules. The tactics of competition are developed through observation, conversations and experiences during the batteries in the various championships and also in training, where we put into practice everything that was absorbed to reach the best result.
